Silver Spring Thoroughbred Management can help coordinate a client’s complete thoroughbred portfolio, developing an overall plan to provide the best chance of success, keeping in mind individual goals and budgets. Silver Spring also works as the liaison between the client and trainers, breeding and sales prep farms, veterinarians, sales companies, race tracks, etc., thereby ensuing that the entire team is working toward maximizing the clients results.
You will be kept up to date on the details of each horse in your portfolio, as well as progress toward the short and long term goals for that particular animal.
Foals and Yearlings
The early development of a racehorse is critically important to its future soundness, racing success and, especially, marketability as sales prospect. With this in mind, we carefully monitor the animal’s progress in the early stages of its life. Depending on whether the individual is scheduled to be sold or kept for racing, we will provide you with conformation updates and photos, sales prep information and progress reports.
Horses in Training
One of the most exciting aspects of thoroughbred racing is keeping up with and being involved in the progress of your racehorses. We will keep you updated on how your horses are progressing – this includes frequent updates on training as well as details on upcoming races and a complete analysis of their efforts after the race.
Standing in the winner’s circle is what it’s all about. The only thing that’s more satisfying than racing a winner is if that winner is one you bred yourself! We will keep you updated on your mare’s health, provide updated photos, and help to decide which of the many stallions in the marketplace is the most suitable for your mare based on pedigree, conformation, race record and value.
For those horses that you’d like to sell, Silver Spring Thoroughbred Management will plan how to best market them. This includes decisions about the proper consignor, the right sale, etc. Additionally, we attend the sales personally to help achieve the best possible result.
